Eric Le Falher - Notaire in Pontivy - Brittany

About Us - What is a Notaire and What do they Do?

Notaires are public officials authorised by the government to prepare private contracts and are there to assist you.  Even if you purchase a house through an agent the notaire will oversee all the legal aspects of the sale. It is normal for the notaire to act for the buyer and the seller as they are impartial, however if the buyer wishes to appoint their own notaire this can be done and the fee is then split between the 2 notaires. There are set fees for the notaires services and tax's which are paid by the buyer.  The notaire is there to help you so please ask if you have any questions regarding the sale of the property.

The notaire can also advise you on inheritance law,  inheritance tax, all aspects of family law and corporate law.

Nowadays it is common for a notary office to also sell properties. Please have a look at our properties for sale in Brittany and do not hesitate to contact us as we always have more properties for sale in Brittany on our books.

Our negotiation fees are fixed by the French Government and are as follows:-
5% of the purchase price for the first 46,000 Euros
2.5% on anything over 46,000 Euros
This negotiation fee is subject to TVA @ 19.6%
